Pet Weight Management Middlesbrough
Obesity in humans can pose a lot of health risks but you may not know that the same health implications can provide your pet with very similar problems. We provide weight management services and advice to all of our clients in the Middlesbrough area as we are passionate about pets and we want to ensure that they live a long and healthy life at a weight that is ideal for their age and breed.
It is completely understandable that you will want to give your pet a treat now and then but when this starts to happen in excess you can end up with a pet that is overweight and at serious risks of developing problems such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and even various forms of cancer.
On the other end of the scale, if your pet is underweight they could be at risk of having a weakened immune system which means they could become more susceptible to catching diseases. If your pet is underweight this can also be a sign of an underlying illness which is why bringing your pet to us for a weight check up is very important so that we can rule out any problems or look to provide treatment if required.
You can check yourself to see if your pet’s weight is healthy by taking a look at them from above, you should be able to feel their ribs and see the outline of their waist. From side on their stomach should be tucked up out of view whilst not revealing their ribs. If you don’t think your pet fits this description or if you would like to get a second opinion from us then please get in touch and book an appointment with us so that we can carry out a weight assessment.
During a weight check up we will provide you with advice and recommendations to help get your pet’s weight to a healthy point. To help your pet reach their ideal weight we will discuss with you food and lifestyle options to give your furry companion the best chance of reaching a healthy target weight.
